Reports from Fanhouse and Sherdog indicate that Wanderlei Silva will meet Yoshihiro Akiyama at the still yet to be annouced UFC 110, which will take place in Sydney, Australia in 2010. The pairing definitely reflects Zuffa's scope being set on the global MMA audience, as Akiyama is insanely popular in Japan; Wand is also a big name there from his Pride days, and well renowned in his home country of Brazil.  The fight will take place at 185 pounds and carries all the ingredients for a high-velocity encounter between two acclaimed and exciting fighters. "The Axe Murderer" Silva has been sputtering severely as of late, going just 1-5 in his last 6 outings, but the man maintains a remarkable level of respect among fans and fellow fighters for always fighting his heart out and putting on one hell of a show.  This will be Akiyama's second UFC bout after grasping a tight split-decision win over Alan Belcher (that some consider a controversial win) in his debut at UFC 100.
