On a recent edition of Inside MMA, Anderson Silva's manager, Ed Soares, made an appearance to talk shop with El Guapo and Kenny Rice. Soares revealed that the champ is feeling good and back to training after having surgery on his elbow, and will more than likely face former part-time training partner Vitor Belfort at UFC 112 Abu Dhabi for his next title defense.
Things get interesting when Bas asks Soares if Anderson Silva would ever realistically entertain a bout with welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. After the obligatory "whatever Dana White wants to do" appetizer, Soares reveals that Anderson has attempted to make it very clear that he wants to be involved in the biggest fights possible, and will pursue any opponent that the fans are clamoring to see.
"He wants to be involved in the biggest fights possible; whether it be GSP, whether it be at light-heavyweight, whether it even be at heavyweight--it doesn't make a difference. He wants to be involved in the biggest fights possible, and if that GSP fight is something that the fans want to watch, it's going to be a big pay-per-view, it's going to be a big fight... we'll take it."
A short video of Soares' segment on the show is posted after the jump.
