Earlier today, Alistair Overeem puttered up to the beaches of Twittersville and launched a solo internet assault against M-1 and Fedor Emelienenko:
“The real reason M-1/Fedor called me out is to distract attention of a possible match with Silva. He wants Fedor but M-1 don’t want Silva 6:44 AM Sep 1st via web”
The post lent clarity to a message that he sent to Bigfoot Silva four hours earlier:
“Everybody is talkin about me and Fedor, it’s not fair to you. Fedor should fight you in December, then problem is solved. 2:37 AM Sep 1st via web”
Is he right? Are the Russians pretending that Bigfoot doesn’t exist? Maybe that sort of treatment comes with the nickname.
In May, Alistair had a different idea about who he wanted to fight:
"Definitely Fedor. Fedor is a way more exciting fighter. He's always looking for the kill, fighting stand-up or on the ground, like me,” Overeem explained of his desire to fight the No. 1 heavyweight in the world."
“Werdum is more ground. I prefer fighters who go for the kill. It’s more exciting fights instead of fighters who stall. I'm not saying that Fabricio is a stalling fighter, but the Fedor fight is a little more attractive, more aggressive, less stalling."
Of course, this was before Werdum stalled Fedor's bloodflow via triangle.

So the big question is this: Is Alistair motivated by a brotherly concern for Silva, or is he losing sleep over the idea of fighting the Most Dangerous Recently Submitted Man on the Planet?
