Tara LaRosa hasn't fought in over a year. Tonight she returns to action at Monte Cox's Extreme Challenge in New Jersey. I spoke to Tara about the fight:
TheGARV.com: Tara, you've been out of action since 07, you must be anxious to get back in the cage.
LaRosa: Definitely. I'm super stoked about the opportunity to fight in my home state and in front of my family and all my friends. And I can't wait to finally get back in there.
TheGARV.com: What kind of fight are you expecting tonight?
LaRosa: Oh, it's going to be a tough one. She's really good on the ground. She's 6-1 with a six fight winning streak and she has, oddly enough, the same rank as me in [Brazilian] jiu-jitsu, she's a four stripe purple belt. So I imagine it's going to be a really tough day on the ground for me, if I decide to take it to the ground.
TheGARV.com: Who awarded you your purple belt?
LaRosa: Royce Gracie.
TheGARV.com. Ah, very impressive! You might have the edge there, getting your belt from Royce.
LaRosa: Well, she's a four stripe purple under Royler, so...
TheGARV.com: Oh man, Gracie against Gracie.
LaRosa: Yeah, tough one.
TheGARV.com: This is going to be a great fight. Good luck tonight!
LaRosa: Thank you very much.
