
Clay Guida derailed the Anthony "Showtime" Pettis hype train last night by keeping Pettis on his back and winning a three round decision. All three judges scored the bout 30-27. Pettis was busy from the bottom, but Guida's wrestling was dominant and moved him one step closer to a title shot. It will still be awhile, however, before Clay gets his chance for the LW strap, because there are others contenders, most notably Jim Miller, that are ahead of Guida in line. Plus, both Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard are injured and will have to fight each other before anyone else gets a shot, so we most likely won't see Guida or Miller fighting for a title until 2012.
In the main event, the TUF finale fight, Tony Ferguson looked great and needed only 4 minutes to TKO Ramsey Nijem. Definitely looking forward to see him fighting in the future. Here are the complete results from last night:
