World off MMA is reporting that Fabricio Werdum has signed with Strikeforce and is in negotiations for a fight with Kimbo Slice.  They quoted Werdum as saying:
"Maybe fighting in May for Strikeforce, possibly Kimbo."
This is kind of shocking, in my opinion, because it's a terrible match up for Kimbo. There's no way his couple of years of ground training can in anyway be competitive with Werdum's slick ground game.  And Werdum has a solid chin, so it's doubtful that Kimbo will be able to hurt him before the fight hits the ground. Plus, Strikeforce's Scott Coker said that they intended to bring Kimbo along slowly.  Putting him in against a fighter the caliber of Werdum is pretty much throwing him to the wolves.  We'll have to wait and see if this is reality or perhaps wishful thinking on Werdum's part. 261_l kimbo_slice_02_2
