Roger Huerta is making a career change. He just turned down a new five fight deal from the UFC because he wants to get into acting. After he fights the one fight remaining on his contract, he'll call it quits for a time while he embarks on his acting career.
In an article from Loretta Hunt at Sherdog, Huerta said this:
"I saw that you have to dedicate as much as you do to training for a fight as you do for an acting role and I’m intrigued by that. I’m 25 years old. I see Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture and they didn’t really hit their primes till their thirties. I’m only going to be young so long and I know that movies and agencies and what not want the young look."
Which means that after Roger wins a few Academy awards, he'll be ready to get back into the Octagon.
Good luck, Roger! And who knows, in a few months, maybe we'll be seeing posters like these:
Props to Juggo and Randell of the Sherdog Forums for the 'Shops.
