It's fight week!  The final arrangements are being put in place as the American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League makes ready for this Friday night's big card.  Promoter Jim McCann is rapidly taking the AMMAFL to the top of Pennsylvania's MMA scene, and his shows are always spectacular.  I am proud to be the official in-cage voice of the Fight Night series, and I am very much looking forward to the action on Friday night. Click the poster above for ticket information, or check out the AMMAFL website.

See you at the fights!

AMMAFL Fight Night 4 takes place this February 17 in Newton, Pennsylvania, and promoter Jim McCann has put together a card featuring the best camps in the area.  His Fight Night 3 event was spectacular, and the promotion gets better with every outing.  The card Jim is putting together now will be comprised of fighters with outstanding camps.  Check out this list of fight camps:

Wings MMA

Renzo Gracie

Hamilton Martial Arts

Balance MMA

Buck’s MMA

Jim McCann is committed to making AMMAFL's Fight Night cards the best around, and he's doing a great job of it so far.  I am the official ring announcer for the AMMAFL, and I can't wait to get in the cage on February 17.  There are always VIPs in the house as well, the venue is great, and the crowd will most certainly leave fully satisfied.  Check out AMMAFL's website for more info:  AmericanMixedMartialArtsFightLeague.com.

MMA in Pennsylvania is thriving, and the reason for that is promotions like the American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League.  The AMMAFL is owned by Jim McCann, who is a fighter himself, and as such has keen insights into the game that other promoters lack.  His matchmaking is excellent, and the last show, Fight Night 3, was a wild affair.  The crowd was as spent as the fighters, who left it all in the cage, and everyone went home satisfied.

Fight Night 4 is scheduled for February 17 and promises to be even bigger and better than Fight Night 3.  I am pumped to be ring announcing this event, and I can tell you that Jim knows how to treat the fighters, staff and especially the fans.  If you live in the South Jersey, or Philly area, this is a must see show.

Check out the AMMAFL website for more info.  See you in Newtown!

Pennsylvania MMA fans should take note of Jim McCann's Xtreme Freestyle training center located in Newtown, PA, just outside of Philly.  Jim is a world class martial artists, and his list of accomplishments is amazing.  McCann also runs the fast rising American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League, and his next show is in February, so stay tuned for more details on that event.  He puts out a great online magazine called the Xtremefreestyle Combat Sports Magazine.  You can sign up for it on his website: XtremeFreestyle.com. Lots to explore on that site, so check it out.

And now take a look at Jim's resume.  It's an eye-opener!

Asylum Fight League's year end finale took place last Saturday night, and the fights were, as usual, insane.  We saw knockouts, submissions and close decisions and the fans all left with their voices hoarse from cheering on their favorite fighters.

In the pro bouts, Shedrick "Chocolate Thunder" Goodridge lived up to his nickname by coming out bombing.  He landed a quick one-two on James Frier that put Frier down.  Then Goodridge rained down punches, but Frier was able to tie up and work his ground game. Both men showed great skill on the ground, and after the early barrage, Frier was able to get some good positions on Shedrick.  By the end of the fight, however, Goodridge was coming on strong and he won a unanimous decision.  It was a great fight that had the fans screaming for more.

In the final bout of the evening, Pat Dwyer took on Brian Pohlmeyer and dominated.  Pohlmeyer showed great toughness and amazing sub defense to last out the fight, but Dwyer was in command throughout and won a unanimous decision.  Pat Dwyer is now 2-0 and he's somebody to keep your eye on.

Tonight is the night!  The Asylum Fight League returns to the Asylum Arena in South Philly for the year ending MMA Spectacular. This is the 36th show for the Carl Mascarenhas and the Asylum Fight League team, of which I am a proud member.  I can't wait to step into the cage tonight, because I know that the fighters are going to be going all out, as they always do at Asylum shows.

The card is stacked as always, and the production will be top notch.  If you have never seen an Asylum show live, you should really try to make it down to South Philly for the event. You can even treat yourself to a Philly cheese steak afterwards.

Here's a complete description of tonight's fights:

The Asylum Fight League is back with its 2011 season finale this Saturday, October 8th at the Asylum Arena located at 7 Ritner Street in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Promoter Carl Mascarenhas is working hard to ensure that this event is the biggest and best of the year.

“It’s exciting,” he said.  “It’s our season finale, so we really pulled out the stops.  We’ve got Michael Riley fighting Delroy McKoy.  We have guys trained by Deividas Taurosevicius, who fought at the WEC and Strikeforce.  We have some really bang up fights.  Our pro fights are going to be top notch.  Shedrick Goodridge’s going to be fighting James Frier, and Pat Dwyer’s going to be fighting Brian Pohlmeyer.  We have Marc  Stevens’ guys  fighting against Mike Constantino’s guys.  They’re all great camps and this is going to be a hell of a show.”
