(Kasey Matthews and Jamie Driver throw down)

The American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League continues its ascent in the MMA world.  On Friday night, the fans went wild when 16 fighters left everything they had in the cage.  The sell out crowd was treated not only to great MMA action, but complimentary food and beverages were provided as well.  The venue at the Newtown Athletic Club was top notch, with great lighting and sound.  It was a pleasure ring announcing all the fights and enjoying the show.

For the first time ever, the AMMFL featured a women's MMA bout, and in my opinion it was the Fight of the Night.  Kasey Matthews and Jamie Driver provided fans with a three round war, with Driver coming out on top on the scorecards.  I had the fight a draw, and would love to see a rematch between these very talented and determined fighters.  It was truly a fight to remember.

Another very memorable fight was Des "The Predator" Green vs. Bam Bam Jones.  Jones came out and went into berserker mode against Green, even trying to fight after the end of the second round.  But Green showed great composure and a high skill level by weathering the storm and taking control of the fight.  Green, out of Team Bombsquad, won by unanimous decision.

All the fights were great, as the fighters gave their all.  I don't have all the official times handy, but will get that info and post it in a couple of days.  I can tell you that the Fight Night series is here to stay, though, and I'm already looking forward to Fight Night 5.

Promoters Jim McCann and Patrick Byrne do an outstanding job on all facets of the fight game. They know how to match make put on an event, and it shows.  If you are near the Philly area, do yourselves a favor and check out a Fight Night event live.

It's fight week!  The final arrangements are being put in place as the American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League makes ready for this Friday night's big card.  Promoter Jim McCann is rapidly taking the AMMAFL to the top of Pennsylvania's MMA scene, and his shows are always spectacular.  I am proud to be the official in-cage voice of the Fight Night series, and I am very much looking forward to the action on Friday night. Click the poster above for ticket information, or check out the AMMAFL website.

MMA in Pennsylvania is thriving, and the reason for that is promotions like the American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League.  The AMMAFL is owned by Jim McCann, who is a fighter himself, and as such has keen insights into the game that other promoters lack.  His matchmaking is excellent, and the last show, Fight Night 3, was a wild affair.  The crowd was as spent as the fighters, who left it all in the cage, and everyone went home satisfied.

Fight Night 4 is scheduled for February 17 and promises to be even bigger and better than Fight Night 3.  I am pumped to be ring announcing this event, and I can tell you that Jim knows how to treat the fighters, staff and especially the fans.  If you live in the South Jersey, or Philly area, this is a must see show.

Check out the AMMAFL website for more info.  See you in Newtown!

Pennsylvania MMA fans should take note of Jim McCann's Xtreme Freestyle training center located in Newtown, PA, just outside of Philly.  Jim is a world class martial artists, and his list of accomplishments is amazing.  McCann also runs the fast rising American Mixed Martial Arts Fight League, and his next show is in February, so stay tuned for more details on that event.  He puts out a great online magazine called the Xtremefreestyle Combat Sports Magazine.  You can sign up for it on his website: XtremeFreestyle.com. Lots to explore on that site, so check it out.

And now take a look at Jim's resume.  It's an eye-opener!
