Oscar De La Hoya is a great boxer.  He's thrilled audiences for years with his ring prowess. From winning Olympic gold to winning multiple world titles, Oscar has had an amazing career.  But like many boxers, De La Hoya is fighting on past his prime, and it's starting to show.  He looked old against Manny Pacquiao, and took a brutal beating.  It's now time for him to seriously consider hanging up the gloves. Oscar has always had good defense, but no boxer is immune to getting hit.  Like Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini once said: If you go swimming you're gonna get wet.  And Oscar just got soaked against Pacquiao. Will history be kind to the Golden Boy?  Absolutely.  His accomplishments are the stuff legends are made of. That's why I'd hate to see him tarnish his legacy by hanging around too long.  Many an old fighter has had his greatness diminished because he couldn't bring himself to walk away from the game. I hope Oscar doesn't make that same mistake. I think what De La Hoya needs to do is make the move to television. He's got the looks for it.  And the legs.  That's why I'm thinking Golden Girls 2....
