If you are familiar with the man called "The Korean Zombie", then you probably know Chan Sung Jung for his attenion-grabbing performances in the Sengoku FW Gran Prix.

This talent-laden tournament served as the springboard for Chan Sung to vault into the spotlight of worldwide MMA, and although he was on the wrong end of one of the many disappointing and controversial decisions on the card after an impressive scrap with eventual tournament victor Masanori Kanehara, the Zombie looked great despite the result; and looked even better in his dual-dismantlement of Shintaro Ishiwatari and Matt Jaggers as his respective first round and alternate-match opponents.

As reported by The Garv, Chan Sung Jung is in the process of making things official for his venture across the pond to the WEC, where the young 23 year-old will entrench himself amongst their fierce stable of dynamic featherweights for his promotional and American MMA debut.

The Garv will soon be featuring an exclusive interview with Chan Sung Jung, and to get you primed, I've decided to engulf you in an assemblage of videos featuring "The Korean Zombie" in action.  You will see a tall, skinny, unassuming looking fellow with a sheepish smile proceed to assault foe after foe with an intense barrage of sharp striking, and then display equally impressive and devastating prowess with his aggressive submission game.

The videos begin with his latest fight, a kickboxing match versus Muay Thai killer Pajonsuk, a former Lumpinee Stadium champion who was expected to walk through Chan Sung Jung.  As you will see, Chan Sung endures some punishment, but cracks Pajonsuk with a perfectly timed spinning backfist--a technique that put Pajonsuk to sleep, but also one that is against the "It's Showtime" rules, which resulted in a disqualification for Chan Sung.  However, like the Kanehara-loss, it was another example of his incipient potential.  Backstory here.

Final notes before the video bombardment:  Michihiro Omigawa has reinvigorated his career at featherweight after a rough run in the UFC's LW division, and is currently ranked the #6 FW in the world on Sherdog--what you may not know is that Omigawa experienced a convincing loss at the hands of Chan Sung Jung in DEEP before he blazed a trail into the top 10; also check out the video of Chan Sung versus Hyung Geol Lee in the Pancrase Neo-Blood tournament, where he endures a fully secured armbar that will have you writhing in pain just from watching it before he escapes and throttles his opponent with punches for a dramatic come-from-behind victory; try your hand at scoring Chan Sung's only loss to Kanehara to see if you agree with the judgment.
