Jose Aldo

Featherweight buzzsaw Jose Aldo is booked to take on WEC 145 lb. champion Mike Brown for the belt on November 11 for WEC 45. Aldo oozes entertainment with his whirling assault of strikes, reminiscent of the violent and destructive Chute Box style that was utterly adored by MMA fans.  Aldo's last 3 WEC fights have ended in the first round on account of his astonishing stand-up arsenal, with his last outing being a brief 8-second brutalization of Cub Swanson.  In his 16 fights, the Nova Uniao fighter has only tasted defeat once in the form of a submission loss against Luta Livre specialist Luciano Azevedo in 2005. He will meet a composed and softspoken brick wall by the name of Mike Brown, an ATT fighter who is rock-solid in all aspects of the game, and recently twice dismantled former longstanding WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber.  The fact most notable in Brown's infallible style and career is that he's never lost by KO or TKO in his 26 fights, rendering his chin as beyond impressive.  Interestingly enough, Brown's last loss was also in 2005 by submission to leglock master Masakazu Imanari, but has strung together an extremely impressive 10-fight win streak. Although both fighters are well-rounded, each will be looking to keep the fight in their preferred phase of combat, with Aldo looking to unleash outbursts of blows on the feet and Brown looking to impose his strong and technical ground game upon his opponent.  Sparks are sure to fly when these top ranked featherweights do battle for the most prestigious 145 title in MMA.
