Melvin_Manhoef_vs_Robbie_Lawler

Strikeforce intends to entertain in full by aligning new acquisition Melvin Manhoef against Robbie Lawler for "Strikeforce: Miami" on January 20th.

This pairing has been suggested by internet fans and media since Manhoef was signed, as it will surely unfold as a gruesomely violent stand-up ensemble between two of the hardest hitting and most feared strikers on the middleweight landcape.

Cory Brady of FiveOuncesOfPain broke the story today.  The bout will mark Manhoef's debut in Strikeforce after trading in his DREAM jersey to fight in the states, while Lawler hasn't seen action since his 1st round submission loss to champion Jake Shields by guillotine in June of '09.  Manhoef will enter the bout flying high after a vicious thumping of crafty veteran Kazuo Misaki at the Dynamite!! 2009 show on New Year's Eve in what was his most significant career win at 185 pounds.

Also planned for the "Strikeforce: Miami" card:

Nick Diaz x Marius Zaromskis (Strikeforce welterweight championship)

Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos x Marloes Coenen (Strikeforce female featherweight championship)

Jay Hieron x Joe Riggs

KJ Noons x Billy Evangelista

Herschel Walker x TBA

Bobby Lashley x TBA
