The Garv.com has just been notified that Jeff Monson has pulled out of his co-headlining match versus Glover Teixeira in today's Bitetti Combat 6 event being held in Brazil, and will be replaced by Gracie Fusion fighter Joaquim "Mamute" Ferreira.

"Mamute" is a submission specialist who bears the impressive accolade of being the only fighter to not only defeat UFC star-heavyweight Junior Dos Santos, but finish him with an armbar.

Ferreira literally received the call offering the opportunity to step-up, accepted, and is now en route to the stadium to compete against the dangerous Pit-product Glover Teixeira this afternoon. Needless to say, it doesn't get any more last-minute than accepting a fight on the same day as the event, and it's quite a high-risk move considering the formidable opponent that Glover Teixeira represents.

Update:  Tatame.com reports that Fabio Maldonado will also be scratched from his bout with Guto Inocente on account of a hand injury.
