Jimmy Miller is going to war. On Wednesday he'll be fighting Matt Wiman in the UFC: Fight for the Troops event. Wiman was originally supposed to face Frankie Edgar, but Edgar got injured and Miller got the call. Not only did he take the fight on 8 days notice, he took it after having just come back from his honeymoon. I visited Jimmy last Friday where he trains at the AMA Fight Club in New Jersey and spoke to him about the upcoming fight. TheGARV.com: Hey Jimmy. You only had 8 days notice for this fight and it's only five days away. How are things going? Miller: Things are going good. I'm taking it one day at a time, not pushing it too hard. TheGARV.com: How's the weight? Miller: The weight's coming down slowly, but I just starting cutting. TheGARV.com: What do you weigh right now? Miller: Around 170. TheGARV.com: And how much will you cut in the last 24 hours before the weigh ins? Miller: Last twenty four hours, looking at like probably 8 to 10 [pounds]. TheGARV.com: That's a lot of weight. How do you feel after you cut that much weight? Miller: It all depends on how my body is. This fight, since I'm really not in as good a shape as I usually am, it's probably going to be a tough one. Last fight was a tough one too, because it was six months since I'd gotten down to 55. But I'm ready. TheGARV.com: What are you expecting from Matt Wiman? Miller: I'm expecting him to come after me. He's been training to fight Frankie [Edgar] for two months, so he should be in shape. He should be tough as hell. TheGARV.com: Are you looking to sub this guy? Miller: I'm definitely looking to sub him. That's my plan, to choke him out. TheGARV.com: Well, that's something you're very good at, so I'll be looking for that too. Thanks, Jimmy. Good luck.
