It took long enough, but Jake Shields is finally in the UFC.  The reigning Strikeforce middleweight champion negotiated with both Strikeforce and the UFC, but Jake ultimately decided to go with the UFC.

GracieFighter.com broke the news that Shields signed with the UFC.  This is a great pick up for Dana White, who now has a viable contender for dominant champion Georges St-Pierre.

Jake's last fight was a decision victory over MMA legend Dan Henderson at 185 pounds.  However, he'll be campaigning at welterweight where he'll be gunning for GSP's title.  According to GracieFighter.com, Jake's first UFC opponent will be named in the near future.

Good luck to Jake Shields in the UFC!
