Announced on his website
YoJTMoney.com, the former contestant of The Ultimate Fighter that was best known for wetting himself and being booted from the finale for his drunken misconduct off-camera is making his DREAM premiere against diehard fighter Dong Sik Yoon on July 20th.
Although the fighter was ridiculed by the fans for blowing the best opportunity an up-and-coming MMA fighter could hope for by losing his spot as a finalist on TUF, and then being subsequently choked out by fellow TUF participant C.B. Dollaway, Taylor has racked up a solid series of consecutive wins since the Dollaway submission loss, the most notable being former UFC grappling ace Drew Fickett, who was viciously TKO'd by Taylor.
Taylor will have his hands more than full with the venerable Dong Sik Yoon, affectionately known as "The Donger" by many MMA fans. Yoon sports one of the most impressive records in MMA as far as jumping into the frying pan early in his career, beginning it by dropping 4 straight losses to the likes of established fighters like Takimoto, Sakuraba, Rampage, and Murilo Bustamante. Proving he was not discouraged and showing tremendous heart, Yoon then took on headhunting 185 lb. terror Melvin Manhoef, and submitted him impressively with an armbar.
This was the first of a 4-fight win streak for Yoon, as Zelg Galesic, Fabio Silva, and veteran Shungo Oyama all fell into the Yoon's crafty armbars. Yoon then took MW phenom Gegard Mousasi to a decision, but lost on the score cards, and was then pounded out by the talented Nakahara in the DREAM Middleweight tournament.
Regardless of his record, Dong Sik Yoon has proven his mettle and earned the respect of the Japanese audience by consistently putting on a good show and fighting his heart out. This will be a true test to determine what level the young Jesse Taylor is at, and by far his biggest step-up in competition.
