Well, how does Paul Daley feel about this? He posted the following on the Underground Forum in response to Condit dropping out:
"Condit is a big pussy IMO, i have inside information on that dude....it's all good as long as i fight. Koshcheck...is a tough motherfucker, but i accept the challange. Hazellet has sick subs, and is dangerous, but i except that fight too. Any top level figher in 170lbs with a winning record. Joe make it happen."
Dustin "McLovin" Hazelett was left without an opponent nor time to find another after Karo Parisyan dropped out of their scheduled UFC 106 fight two days before the event, and was later slapped with a lifetime banishment from Dana White. Although these circumstances perfectly address the need for a replacement welterweight, this change in opponents does not favor Daley.
Semtex is a Muay Thai technician with hammers for hands, but he comes with the disclaimer of having a suspect ground game. Hazelett is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Jorge Gurgel who has what even Daley himself describes as "sick subs". Hazelett has a long reach that he uses well and rapidly improving kickboxing skills, and quite possibly the best nickname in MMA--but perhaps lacks the strength and wrestling to bully Semtex to the mat.
Hazelett does have a keen knack for the more inconspicuous methods of tying his opponents up, and he's been going for broke on the feet lately with high kicks and exuberant combinations, so this fight has my prediction for a high paced affair that will surely please the crowd.
