Looks like Chuck Liddell will be out of action until May, which means he won't be on the UFC 96 card. Dave Meltzer is reporting that Liddell is going to sit out until May 28. Chuck's opponent at this time is the ubiquitous "TBA," but I'm sure he'll drop out like he always does.
So what does this mean for the UFC 96 card? It means that the main event could very well be Shane Carwin vs. Gabriel Gonzaga. Which is not a bad match up, in fact it's very interesting. But I just don't see that a main event fight.
But of course, it's very early in the game and all cards are subject to change so hopefully we'll see some more good match ups for UFC 96.
