Bruce Buffer is looking more and more like a “ring game” announcer than a one-dimensional ring announcer.

Yes, he is famous for his “Buffer 180,” a side-snapping wonder of body mechanics that he executes during many of his pre-fight introductions. He explains his trademark move here.

But the Voice of the Octogon is also famous for occasionally dominating all 360-degrees of whatever No Limit Texas Hold-em poker table he happens to be sitting at.

According to pokernews.com, Bruce won the Grand Slam of Poker Main Event at the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles on Tuesday.  He buffed out 1,483 other entrants to take home $75,000.00 of the $286,600 prize pool.

Buffer provided updates throughout the event, including the following Twitter post at 5:29 AM:

Took It Down n Won "1st Place" 4 plenty of $Cashola$ It's 5:30 am, I'm happy n headin home!

That’s an improvement on Buffer’s recent  $27,519.00 payout at the World Series of Poker, after his pocket aces lost to pocket 8s-turned-quads.  He finished 478th out of 7,319 entrants and described the experience as “a hell of a ride.”

Yesterday, Buffer also mentioned that he “did a Poker After Dark” that will be televised in August.

According to their 2010 schedule, the Poker After Dark people have scheduled a “Mixed Martial Arts” evening for the week of August 16th.  Bruce Buffer, Patrik Antonius, Dan Henderson, Randy Couture, Howard Lederer and Erick Lindgren will appear.

On November 4, 2009, Dan Henderson posted a photo from the filming, explaining that the show would be aired “on NBC in early 2010.”
