Good thing Bobby Campbell put together a great undercard for his Lights Out show Friday night at the Sportatorium in Deer Park, NY. The main event was supposed to be Campbell against "prison fighter" Christian Darrow, but Darrow showed up claiming he had an eye injury and couldn't fight. So that fight was scratched, but the crowd still got their money's worth because the undercard was fantastic.
In the co-main event, which topped the evening, "Like Whoa" Murray won the North America title over Josh Nudel. Murray is from a fighting family; he's trained by his dad, Ron, and his sister Dorian is a kickboxing champ herself. Murray looked very sharp against Nudel, beating him to the punch and stopping him in Round 3.
Obviously everyone was disappointed that Darrow wouldn't fight, but no one was really surprised. He blew a golden opportunity and I think it's safe to say his 15 minutes are up.
Lauren Kalikow's Pretty in Pink Girls were on hand to wow the crowd and do the ring card duties and they did a great job as always.
Bobby Campbell will be back in October, taking on a legitmate opponent, and we'll be covering it right here.
