Bellator M-1 ProElite

Do not miss your chance to see Round 2 of M-1 Global Americas Tournament this Saturday June 26th at Ballys.  I will be in the ring doing the announcements (which is worth the price of tickets alone) and Mike Straka of HDNet will be doing the blow by blow.

Here's the official press release for the event, which will feature the Fedor vs. Werdum fight live at the venue.

New York City, New York (June 3, 2010) - Fans attending the “M-1 Global Selection” 2nd round event on June 26th in Atlantic City won’t miss the highly anticipated Fedor vs. Werdum bout. Based on fan feedback, M-1 Global will be airing “The Last Emperor’s” contest through close circuit telecast during the live event.

“We are about delivering the fan experience and we felt it was imperative to enable our audience the opportunity to witness Fedor take on Werdum as it unfolds,” says M-1 Global co-founder Vadim Finkelchtein. “Fedor is the world’s greatest pound-for-pound fighter and MMA fans made it clear that they wanted to see this bout; we had to make it happen.”

James Toney is working hard ahead of his MMA debut against Randy Couture on August 28 at UFC 118.  He's trained with King Mo Lawal recently, supposedly tapping out King Mo several times.  Now he's at the M-1 Global training facility in Chatsworth, California.

The good news is that Toney seems to be taking this bout seriously.  The bad news is that he's going to be a boxer in a MMA match, against a legendary wrestler and former multiple time MMA world champion.  So while Toney's cardio may be good for the fight, his technique is going to be no match for Couture.  The best he can hope for is a Ray Mercer-like early punch that will knock Randy out. Good luck with that.

Pics after the jump.

M-1 Global's Selection America is heading into round two and will be back at Ballys on June 26th.  I had a wonderful time as ring announcer and look forward to Round 2, which is being held on the same night as Fedor vs. Werdum.  I believe M-1 is going to show the Fedor fight at the venue, which should be a lot of fun.

Check out the poster.  I'll have lots more on this event as we get closer to the date.

I had a great time introducing all the fighters at M-1 Global's Selection event in New Jersey last Saturday night.  The videos of the fights are up at Sherdog now.  You can check them out here:

Looking forward to the next round in June!

Man, what a night!  The M-1 Selection Americas tournament's first round is in the books and the fighters who advanced all looked great.  It was an honor and a priviledge to work the event.  The production was very professional and the crew was top notch.  I acutually blew my first cue but after that things settled down and we were all in the groove for the rest of the show.

M-1 Global spared no expense in bringing MMA fans top notch fights and great production values.  The venue at Ballys in Atlantic City was awesome, the crowd was big and enthusiastic and most importantly the fighters put on one hell of show.

Lots of great match ups are set for the next round and I can't wait to see who will advance.  Fran Evans, M-1's matchmaker did a great job putting together the card and all the fights were competitive.  Now the winners move on to the next round.

Already looking forward to the event.  More pictures and complete results after the jump.  I'll post some videos of the fights when I get ahold of them.

Just a few hours until the M-1 Selection show here at Ballys in Atlantic City.  Show starts at 7PM sharp and you can watch it live and free at Sherdog.com.  I will be doing the ring announcing and Mike Straka and John Morgan will be commentating.  Lots of local East Coast talent on the card and the ten fights scheduled should be great.  If you can't make it down to the show, make sure to check it out on the Net.

May the best man win!

M-1 Selection Americas event takes place tomorrow night at Ballys in Atlantic City.  I am ring announcing the event and I'm very happy to see many of the East Coast's finest talent on the card.

The show will be broadcast LIVE and FREE on Sherdog.com tomorrow night beginning at 7PM sharp.  It will also be show live throughout Europe and Russia.

The tournament is a single elimination type.  Lose once and you are gone.  There are several regions involved world wide and the winner will have earned it.   Keep on eye out for more details.  See you at the show!

M-1 Global's Apy Echteld, who also manages Gegard Mousasi, on Fedor fighting Overeem and Brock Lesnar.  He mentions Overeem physique and says testing will be required.

M-1 Selection continues in Atlantic City, NJ on April 3rd.  Your truly will be doing the ring announcing, and many of my good buds are on the card.  Check out this fact sheet from Bob Treiger.
