There's an old axiom in boxing (as Joe Rogan pointed out) that a great big mean beats a great little man. And that's exactly what happened last night. Both BJ Penn and GSP are supremely skilled, but the deciding factor (in my opinion, anyway) was that GSP was just too big and too strong for BJ Penn. GSP has always been a big welterweight and BJ Penn has always been most effective at lightweight. This became evident early in the fight, and it enabled GSP to basically manhandle Penn all night. Penn fought tough and he fought bravely, but he just didn't have the strength to keep GSP in his guard. It was amazing to watch somebody pass BJ's guard as easily as GSP did. BJ has plenty of great potential fights at 155 and he'll be back stronger than ever at that weight. But this time he needs to stay at that weight and stop fighting guys who dwarf him in size. And GSP, well he just looked like a machine in there. He did what he had to do and did it in amazing fashion. Major props to both of these warriors.
