Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has fallen on hard times.

As the UFC exploded into the mainstream arena, Arlovski was the catalyst of many impressive highlight-reel KO's and considered a dominant champion.  He then suffered uneventful and uninspiring back-to-back losses to Tim Sylvia, and even though he bounced back by winning three straight, finishing two by TKO with his powerful punches, he was released from his UFC contract.

He continued to prove his stature by treating Ben Rothwell and Roy Nelson to his KO power, before facing and losing to the best fighter in the history of the sport, Fedor Emelianenko.  His return unfolded with Arlovski suffering the same fate quickly at the hands of HW slugger Brett Rogers.

In an interview with Fighters.com, Arlovski reveals that he is not only depressed, but that the depths of his despondency have lead to a recent game of "Russian Roulette".  For those unfamiliar with the term: the mechanics consist of inserting one bullet into a six-shot chamber, giving the partially loaded chamber a fateful spin, and then placing the gun to the head, and pulling the trigger.  The results are bluntly and unfortunately translated as either "suicide" or "suicidal".

“First time I was 16, second time I was 30.  It’s when you don’t care about anything.  I cried a lot after my fights, you know. When I lost to Fedor, I cried. When I lost to Rogers, I cried. You might be surprised, but I had tears a lot in my last relationship."
Arlovski has also bore the cross of the dreaded "glass jaw" stigma amongst MMA fans, losing six of his seven shortcomings by TKO.  The Belarus native does plan to continue his training with an established chef of the sweet science, Freddie Roach, and carry onward with a career in boxing.  Arlovski was vague on his future in the MMA world, but did hint that testing the waters in Japan might be interesting.
